Tooth decay is the most common cause of tooth destruction. It is caused by acids formed by bacteria coming into contact with the tooth enamel. There are two types of restoration:
Direct restoration (or filling): for treating small cavities. The material used is composite, a latest-generation resin with properties similar to that of tooth enamel.
Onlays: for large cavities. This restoration is prepared in the laboratory and subsequently bonded to the hollowed-out tooth after cleaning and removing the decay.
